The students of Agastya got the opportunity to build their own Mud Oven under the able guidance of Ms. Meenakshi, the founder of Puvidham Rural Development Trust, Dharampuri, Tamil Nadu. Ms. Meenakshi shared her expertise with the students and shared her valuable experience of sustainable life and natural living. She has dedicated her life to spreading the message of sustainable living in society. She is not only the ambassador of minimalistic living but also sets an example for others to emulate by following these principles. It was a treat to see the students smear themselves in mud and enjoy every bit of the mud oven-making. They were part of every step of the process, right from building the platform to sieving the mud, mixing, smearing and building the dome. Now the school is waiting for the students to come back and use the oven, which they fondly named AKSHAYA, to bake their cakes and bread.
