On December 23, 2023, as the doors of Tagore Hall at Agastya Academy swung open, a deep sense of anticipation and excitement enveloped both us, the graduating students, and our parents. The Graduation and Lighting Ceremony ended up becoming one of our core memories of this lifetime.

Warm Welcomes and Nostalgia
Our teachers welcomed us with open arms, much similar to the hype of entering a marriage hall, and bestowed upon us a warm welcome that set the tone for a memorable evening. The walls adorned with photo collages took us down memory lane, showcasing snapshots from our previous events and years. Amidst the nostalgia, we gathered with friends, reminiscing about cherished moments that defined our time at Agastya.
Lighting of Diyas
The ceremony began with the lighting of diyas, symbolizing the illumination of wisdom and the dawn of new beginnings for all of us. The atmosphere became enchanting, heightened by the heartfelt speeches of our teachers in both English and Tamil and their golden words mentioning and appreciating each of us. Their warm words left an indelible mark on our hearts.
Sharing Our Agastya Journey
The peak of the ceremony was our chance to express our thoughts on studying at Agastya. Each of us had the opportunity to share our unique experiences and perspectives, making the graduation ceremony a truly personal and reflective affair. The teachers had prepared special cards for each graduate, and receiving them from the hands of Vidhya mam was a moment of immense joy.
Vidhya mam, the Managing Director of Agastya, took the stage with a speech that echoed with pride, celebrating the achievements of our graduating class. As we stood on the stage together, each holding a diya, the symbolism of the moment was not lost on us; it was a journey illuminated by our collective smiles and shared memories to hold on to for a lifetime.
Capturing Memories
The stage was then transformed into a lively photoshoot zone, capturing group photos, individual snapshots, and pictures of each of our gang of friends. The mingling continued as we stepped off the stage to connect with all the parents and teachers.
Our parents also beamed with pride and bliss as they discussed the remarkable journey of our 12 years at Agastya. They shared stories of our accomplishments, growth, and the special bonds formed within the Agastya community.
Dinner with Friends
Seated with friends, the dinner turned into a personal and intimate affair. We enjoyed moments of laughter, heartfelt conversations, and shared dreams for the future. The evening concluded with more pictures, capturing the essence of our friendships and the bonds that would forever connect us.
For New Beginnings
As we stepped into the night, the Graduation and Lighting ceremony came to an end. We carried with us the warmth of our teachers' words, the glow of the diyas, and the cherished memories of a farewell that marked an end and the beginning of a new and exciting chapter in our lives.
